A nice send-off for Phaedon, before college

The summer edition the Sabbatoparea gathered Saturday July 8th to bid farewell to Pheadeon, son of Aristeidis and Aggeliki, and a recent graduate of Boston Latin and future freshman at UMass Boston.

Th parea had managed to collect from among ourselves a respectable amount of money for Phaedon to  spend as his χαρτζιλίκι (yes he learned that word, too--pocket money) when he visits the motherland with his family next week.

All his family was present and Yaya Konstantina had the best comment: "He needed a boost of confidence before college and this was it."

Manolis gave him his the award, thanking Phaedon, and  his whole family, for the support they have given to Sabbatoparea for the last 19-20 years......

Congratulations to Phaidon and best wishes for this important new chapter of his life. And, αιεν αριστευειν. He is a smart and diligent young man and I am positive that he will excel in his studies. UMB is a relative new school with highly qualified and dedicated faculty. I taught there since its young age for 27 years and I am one of the founding fathers of its College of Management. Best luck to him.
