Sympareotis wins physician award

Sympareotis Dr. Gerasimos (Makis) Makrigiorgos was awarded with a 2019 Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization Pillar Awards last month. The awards were established in 2013 to recognize Brigham faculty in one, or more, of the five pillars of academic medicine: mentorship, education, research, community service, diversity and inclusion. 

Makrigiorgos's award was for his contribution to faculty development and diversity. Specifically, he was recognized for a ten-year period of service as the Division Director for Medical Physics & Biophysics in the Department of Radiation Oncology, BWH-DFCI.
