A great tradition goes on: Kalanda sung for the 27th year in a row!/Η Παρέα συμμετείχε (καί πάλι) επιτυχώς

Πρώτη Γενάρη 2008. Τά είπαμε καί πάλι. Οι συμπαρεώτες βοήθησαν ξανά στόν έρανο γιά τά Ελληνόπουλα μέ καρδιοπάθειες. Almost $5,000 collected--a new record! Approximately 100 Greek-Americans, relatives and friends gathered at the home of Stella, Alekos and Vanessa to participate in the 27th annual singing of New Year's carols. The new generation was amply represented by many teenagers, toddlers and seven-month-old Andrew Vassilis. Vassilis started the festivities by focusing on the kalandas' history and mission. New Angelenos Harry spoke about the logistics of the operation and promised to try to bring the family here every year for this cause. This gesture attracted generous applause. Although many τριγωνάκια were available, the main musical accompaniment for the group was Petros' clarinet. Nikos again conducted masterfully. The group visited many homes in Newton, Allston and Brookline, as always perilously navigating the streets that were in bad condition because of the thick falling snow. Nevertheless, the prevailing mood was one of enthusiasm, and no one was detected to be out of tune!
